Why should I consider getting a whole home humidifier installed into my heating & air system??
When winter rolls into town, we are thinking of Christmas, the New Year, kids going back to school, snow etc... and not so much about our comfort at home. With the winter season many things are top priority. So why shouldn't home comfort and your family's health be at the top of the list?? That is why I chose this topic as first of many for things we can do to save $$ stay warm and comfortable.
*Discomfort* When we heat our homes, humidity levels drop below our comfort zone. This causes you to experience the discomforts of itchy dry skin, annoying static shocks and being "too cold" at a normal temperature.
*Unhealthy Air* Viruses thrive in low humidity and can actually increase the chances of getting a cold, the flu, and other respiratory issues.
*Home Damage* When heated air is not properly humidified, it can cause walls and ceilings to crack and wood floors and trim to separate. Electronic equipment can also fall victim to static electric charges.
*Higher Energy Costs* Dry air pulls moisture from your skin, making you feel colder, which means you turn up the heat. Dry air also shrinks framing around doors and window, resulting in gaps that let in cold air.
Whole home humidifiers add moisture into the air. The humidifier is installed into your duct work, a separate control stat is added to the system to work with your existing hvac unit. You adjust what humidity level is comfortable for you and your family. During the summer months the humidifier is turned off and your AC is ready for those hot days If anyone has questions or would like more info, please feel free to contact me and please share.
